1970s

Since the 1980s bikes have been appearing in many more films to add excitement but not much more to the real plots of many films. It appears the bike is often used to define character.
Many more documentaries and television shows (like American Chopper) also became popular. Producers found that they could make documentaries on biker events, often sexual, or more adult films with biker titles, to cash in on motorcycle interest. See films by year at motorbiker.org to see how many more films he has listed for these decades. My Comments on films are in blue.

Biker Movies of 1990s

Seems so it this romance. Has the air of made for TV film and mostly harmless.
Camp Fear

“When a group of beautiful young campers arrives at a secluded campsite, they mistakenly assume they are alone until a gang of menacing bikers shows up to harass and terrorize them. As if that wasn't enough to ruin a relaxing weekend in the country, a rampaging Druid giant is soon constructing a mock-Stonehenge on which to commit human sacrifices and the Loch Ness Monster has abandoned his watery home and taken to terra firma to feast on human flesh! With earthquakes, lasers, the Lambada, this weekend getaway may be the last bash for humanity!” Blockbuster.comWild film with a plot that must have come out from some drug trip.

Harley

1990 Harley Lou Diamond Phillips
“Harley (Phillips) is a 'troubled teen' from L.A. who is arrested. A progressive social worker has Harley sent to Texas to live with the Nortons, an open-minded, heartful Christian family, and spend two months on their ranch. Surrounded by a town full of doddering hicks, Harley takes on ranch chores, learns to ride horses, and finds love in a local girl while the Nortons try to bring him into the fold.” IMDb.com Not sure of the motorcycle inviolvedbesides his name but the cover art has him on a bike… and I found a H-D is in it listed on motorbiker.org Motorcycles in Movies. The two go on the run from the criminals as well as the cops and realize that their only remaining option is to fight back against their pursuers. Although another film was marketed as Moment of Romance 2, it is not an actual sequel to this film.” allmovie.com - IMDb.com

Punk Vacation
1990 Punk Vacation IMDb -

Masters of Menace
1990 Masters of Menace  Listed as a comedy
“The Masters of Menace are actually a motorcycle gang. When one of their own dies while performing a dangerous bike stunt, they decide to cross the country to go bury him. With the coffin in the back of the pick-up truck and the tight-butt lawyer in the front, their craving for beer combined with lack of manners will disturb quite a few people wherever they go, including the police.” IMDb.com
Blood Ties

1991 May  Blood Ties  TV “This film concerns the exploits of the "Carpathian American" society in Long Beach. Carpathian Americans are just like any other expatriate organization,.... There is just one minor difference, the Carpathian Americans seem to have a predilection for drinking human blood. The film begins somewhere deep in the bible belt where teenager Cody (Jason London) wakes to find that intruders have just skewered his parents and are about to set fire to them for good measure. … and "The Shrikes" a gang of tearaway biker teenage vampires.” IMDb.comThe young vamps ride cycles and are a bit gang like in behavior.  Guess this film also spun a series.

Born to Ride

1991 May Born To Ride  John Stamos
“The US Army has decided to modernize its cavalry, … convert a horse unit to motorcycles, but his men are easily outclassed as riders by a pack of rowdies, especially Grady Westfall; when he is arrested risking a long jail term, he's given one way out: enlisting as Corporal, assigned as driving instructor. … unit is ordered to prepare in two weeks for a secret mission …, under cover of a motorcycling festival in nearby Bilbao. Terminator 2: Judgment Day

poster

July 1991  T2 – Terminator 2: Judgment Day
“A shape-shifting cyborg is sent back from the future to kill John Connor before he can grow up to lead the resistance; a protector is sent, too.” IMDb.com This time Arnold is the protector hero and with great motorcycle ride action. And there is that famous cover/poster of Arnold with shotgun on the bike and his naked visit to the biker bar where he steals clothes and a Fatboy.
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man

1991 Aug. Harley-Davidson and the Marlboro Man Mickey Rourke, Don Johnson
“The tuff biker Harley and his no less tuff Cowboy friend Marlboro learn that an old friend of them will lose his bar, because a bank wants to build a new complex there and demands 2.5 million dollars for a new contract in advance. Cool As Ice
Oct 1991 Cool As Ice
"The old teen rebel saga is updated for the rap crowd, unfortunately rapper Vanilla Ice is the teen. Ice shows up on a neon-yellow motorcycle which gets everyone's attention, including the female honor student who has never had a rebellious bone in her body." IMDb
Not really a gang, and can't see Vanilla Ice in his clown-like outfits as modern version of Brando's Wild One as in one review.
Chopper Chicks in Zombietown

Chopper Chicks in Zombietown

Troma release

1991 Chopper Chicks in Zombietown  Comedy/Horror“The title should be enough to explain the plot here. Riding around on their motorbikes, a gang of tough women bikers are the only thing that stands between a crowd of Zombies, which have been accidentally let out of their secure cave (!), and those still alive in the town.” IMDb.com - allmovie.com - motorbiker.org Actually a pretty good but weird film. Best of the women biker films and have Billy Bob Thornton. Thank Troma for DVD
The Last Riders

Last Riders

1991 The Last Riders  Erik Estrada, William Smith
“In this actioner, a tough biker leaves his gang to become a cop and finds that he has become their latest target for revenge.” allmovie.com - IMDb - "Erik Estrada is a retired member of a bike gang, "The Slavers," whose brief interlude of domestic bliss is destroyed when a bad cop frames him to his former associates." motorbiker.com Seems that motrbiker.org is only one to watch movie and give correct plot as he does NOT become a cop, he left gang because he killed one.
imdb 1991 Raw Nerve " When, during a rash of grotesque shotgun murders, a young race car driver goes to the police claiming that he's been having dreams about the killer, he gets locked up as the suspect. A lady reporter falls in love with the suspect and sets out prove his innocence and find the real killer. A rogue biker who accosts the reporter and kidnaps her is thought to be the killer in question so after he's slaughtered in a shoot-out, they figure they've solved the shotgun slayings. But have they? " allmovie.com Another questionable review - no biker, no kidnap, no shoot out in the movie I saw. Sometime I wonder what film were they watching.
Dark Rider

1991 Dark Rider  Joe Estevez
“An avaricious and vicious gangster threatens the residents of an entire town until an enigmatic motorcycle rider roars into town to save them” allmove.com -
"A sheriff in a small Nevada town goes up against a gang that's using his town to illegally dump toxic waste." IMDb

1991 Blue Desert aka Silent Victim D.B. Sweeny, Courteney Cox
“After surviving rape, comic-book artist Lisa Roberts is moving from New York City to small town in Arizona. But there's danger in small towns too” IMDb.com
Motorbiker.org has several photos of Cox on bike but review says not so much bike action.
After seeing on Netflix play, would class this as using bike for chase scenes. Done in good way with reason why she could but typical woman in peril plot.

  1991 Driven to Kill
"A young woman, intent on divorcing her abusive husband, attempts to set him up with a prostitute in a legal brothel in Nevada. Their trip is waylaid, however, when he stumbles upon stolen drug money and they are quickly pursued by both a biker gang and the mob." TCM

When a caller named Grubeck phones in, he is hooked by devilish forces who send his spirit on murderous sprees while his body sleeps. Whether or not it can be stopped all depends on a young biker and a young woman who are investigating these slayings." motorbiker.org - imdb   Motorbiker gives 3 stars and several bike photos while it only gave the orginal one star but was more of biker description
Freejack
Jan. 1992 Freejack Mick Jagger, Rene Russo. Emilio Estevez (rider) "Auto racer Alex Furlong is snatched by time travel, a split second before a fatal explosion, by Vasendak's 21st-century team of techies, who plan to sell his healthy body to an ailing rich man at McCandless Corporation, for a mind transfer. He escapes, but has no rights in this nightmare future of violence and sleaze. The story concerns his survival, and his attempt to revive his relationship with his fiancée Julie, now 15 years older and an executive at McCandless. motorbiker.org - IMDb
Just one bike chase scene but a good SciFi movie worth seeing.
Beyond the Law

1992 Beyond the Law  Charlie Sheen, Michael Madsen IMDb.com
"Based on a true story, Dan Saxon is an undercover cop who infiltrates a biker gang to nail the scum behind a drug-smuggling operation. In order to maintain the trust of the gang's leader, he must commit ever more dangerous and heinous crimes. Just how far 'beyond the law' will Saxon go?" motorbiker.org

Double Cross

1992   Double Cross IMDb
Bike on cover of DVD case.  Only reason to include is that the main character rides a bike and one scene he is working as a bike mechanic.  Do they think riding a bike just makes you a bad guy? Otherwise just another fair "crime doesn't pay" drama.

Sweet Justice

1992 Sweet JusticeMarc Singer and Finn Carter  star in this modern day Magnificent Seven, about six gorgeous ex-commandos hell-bent on avenging the sadistic murder of their friend. When Sunny Justice (Carter) discovers that her sister has been brutally killed trying to expose corruption in a small town, she swears to avenge her death. Water Dance

May 1992 Waterdance  Eric Stoltz, William Forsythe “An oft overlooked film about struggling to deal with paralysis. Author Joel Garcia breaks his neck while hiking, and finds himself in a rehab center with Raymond, an exaggerating ladies man, and Bloss, a racist biker. Considerable tension builds as each character tries to deal with his new found handicap and the problems that go with it, especially Joel, whose lover Anna is having as difficult a time as he is. As Raymond reveals a dream about dancing on the surface of a lake to stay afloat, it becomes apparent that each of them must find his own Waterdance to survive his tragedy.” IMDb.com

Roadside Prophets

1992 Oct. Roadside Prophets“Bizarre and surreal road movie about a biker and his unlikely sidekick. Sam begins following Joe, on a quest of his own, which necessitates staying in Motel 9's wherever they go. Themes such as friendship, faith, and isolation are brought into sharp relief by strange situations, the lonely road, and the stark emptiness of the desert. There are also several humorous cameos.” IMDb.com
This review hits right on the button.  Leaves you wondering why but then if it is the movie’s goal is to be thought provoking, it worked on me.

Nowhere To Run
Jan. 1993 Nowhere to Run Jean-Claude Van Damme, Rosanna Arquette
"Escaped convict Sam Gillen single handedly takes on ruthless developers determined to evict Clydie - a widow with two young children. Nobody knows who Sam is. Although the Triumph plays an important role in the movie, it's only towards the end that you can see it ride. The chase scene isn't bad, considering that they using a Triumph as a motorcrosser. For the rest of the movie the bike plays a symbolic part." motorbiker.org - IMDb

1993 Miami Beach Cops “Two young veterans of the Gulf War become deputy sheriffs in a small Florida town. Two Brothers, a Girl and a Gun

Reunited with Cliff Wes' brother the family goes on a journey to the family farm and soon a history is dug up that may have been better off buried” IMDb.com. DVD cover art has bike. It won AMPIA 1994 editing award.  While the fact that he rides is not major part of plot, it seems to fit and helps to define the characters in this psychological film.

OUT
OF
PRINT

1993 Bikers, Blondes, & Blood Compellation
“The 1993 compilation feature truly lives up to its title. This is a lovingly assembled pastiche of the "best of the worst" from Hollywood's exploitation-flick factories. Some of the clips are in black and white, some are in color, and all are gloriously awful. The highlight is an extended sequence from Jayne Mansfield's valedictory feature Single Room Furnished, lending a poignant note to the raunchy proceedings. We'd call Bikers, Blondes & Blood an ideal drive-in film....if we still had drive-ins.”allmovie.com

Running Cool

1993 Running Cool  Andrew Divoff, Dedee Pfeiffer “Bone and Bear, two rough and tough bikers ride out from Sturgis, SD. to the marshes of South Carolina to help out their "bro" Ironbutt Garrett, who's land is being eyed by the money-grubbing, domineering Calvin Hogg. With the townspeople aghast at the "scooter-trash" invading Buford, the Sheriff, under the direction of Hogg, try to get the bikers out of town while they try to organize a "Wetland Run" aimed at making enough money to pay off the back taxes that threaten Ironbutt's claim to the land....” IMDb.com Not bad as the bikers vs evil developer and they change the town's attitude towards bikers from being Gang to Environments.

“Cal and his family are driving to their new home in California and are terrorized by a motorcycle gang along the highway.” IMDb.com
