Since the 1980s bikes have been appearing in many more films to add excitement but not much more to the real plots of many films. Many more documentaries and television shows (like American Chopper) also became popular. Producers found that they could make documentaries on biker events, often sexual, or more adult films with biker titles, to cash in on motorcycle interest. 2002 Lone Hero Canadian made for HBO Lou Diamond Phillips, Sean Patrick Flaner
“Standard story of a biker gang taking over a town. The story starts with Phillips and a cohort robbing a store and injuring a salesperson. The bikers tell everyone in the store that if any one tells who committed the crime, the gang will take revenge on them and their families. Flanery nonetheless proceeds to arrest them with a gun filled with blanks when he next sees them. The gang breaks their leader out of jail, killing the policemen in the process.” Imdb.com This is a modern, I think well done, telling of the old formula of biker gang and justice. Phillips is more real and menacing then those in past as there is none of the jive hippy talk.
